Gethsemane Moments

Every now and then, we need someone to stand in the gap for us; it will be fulfilling to know there are people out there who care enough to remember you always in their prayers! Yes, consider yourself blessed if you have intercessors out there who will not keep silent day nor night, who will not rest until God gives you rest! How awesome!

Isaiah 62:6-7″ I have posted watchmen on your walls, Jerusalem; they will never be silent day or night. You who call on the Lord, give yourselves no rest, and give him no rest till he establishes Jerusalem and makes her the praise of the earth”

Some people are gifted intercessors; they will be moved to pray and persevere on behalf of others! They will stand in the gap and until there is a change, they do not give up! These are watchmen posted on the walls and not inside the COMPOUND!  can I preach in here? –

Its one thing to pray FOR someone and another thing to pray WITH the person; Anyone can pray for others and step in with God on their behalf (on the walls) but not everyone must pray with you in your compound!

At Gethsemane, Jesus Christ asks his disciples to wait whiles he goes to pray and he went with only three of his disciples; Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, He asks them to watch WITH him and even there, he goes a little farther from the three before falling to the ground to pray!

Matthew 26:36-38 “Then Jesus went with his disciples to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to them, “Sit here while I go over there and pray.” He took Peter and the two sons of Zebedee along with him, and he began to be sorrowful and troubled. Then he said to them, “My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me.”

You have to discern and know the people to keep on the WALLS and those you take with you into the COMPOUND at Gethsemane because Gethsemane is a place where your nakedness,  your weakness better still your fragility is laid bare and it is not everyone who can handle your nakedness; it is not everyone who has the wisdom to not take advantage of and make naked, your nakedness! At Gethsemane, you need people who will lift you out of the miry clay and not people who will push you down further..my God! Gethsemane is where you pour out your heart and make your fears known and in the midst of your fears, you need faith and its not everyone who can help lift your faith!

Gethsemane is where you let go of your will and stick to the will of God, it is a place of critical decision; a place you wish you will have your way but you allow the Spirit of God to move; you don’t need anyone who don’t understand the agreement or contract you have with God to interfere! Peter did not have a clue the will of God for the world through Jesus. Honestly, he had good intentions when he sought to dissuade Jesus from predicting his death but his good intentions were not good enough because they did not align with God’s plan. His good intentions were not discerned; they opposed God’s will and at that moment he was in a totally rebellious state!

“From that time on Jesus began to explain to his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things at the hands of the elders, the chief priests and the teachers of the law, and that he must be killed and on the third day be raised to life. Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him. “Never, Lord!” he said. “This shall never happen to you! Jesus turned and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me; you do not have in mind the concerns of God, but merely human concerns.” Matthew 16:21-23

Beloved reading this, I charge you to ask God for wisdom to discern from today onwards to keep the watchmen on the WALLS. Go with a few trusted elect inside the COMPOUND as Jesus did with Peter and the two sons of Zebedee and even inside the compound, go further ALONE into the INNER CHAMBERS where it is only about YOU and GOD!

Have you ever been in a situation where you express worry to a friend or relative and they turn out more fearful than you? Have you ever sought assurance and hope from people and they rather aggravate your situation?

God is our only strength, refuge, fortress! Speak with GOD! Blessings! #GethsemaneMoments
