We Are Nothing, God Is Everything-Humility

One thing that comes between God and man is pride; pride is what brought a one time great angel known as Lucifer down. When we become so full of ourselves, we tend to rely on our strength and think we can do on our own.  Acts 17:28 “For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.” We can never do without him; we cannot prevail by our own strength. There is no branch without a vine because before the branch will be, there must be the vine which gives the branch life. John 15:1-8

In all things, we must decrease so that he will increase and that is the only way God can use man in any position; we have to look small in our own eyes, just small enough so that God could use us. It is a great lesson when we learn that we are nothing and God is everything. When we ascribe glory to Him for every work and everything that happens. We have to understand we are just instruments he uses for his own purpose. We have to understand we have nothing to do with the works He accomplishes through us, it is not our achievement..Philippians 2:13 “for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.

In order to discover our real selves, we must lose ourselves in God; let go of the false identity of pride and submit totally to His leading and guidance. James 4:6 “But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.” Pride is ignorance. Humility is wisdom. Proverbs 9:10“Fear of the LORD is the foundation of wisdom. Knowledge of the Holy One results in good judgment.

Humility is loosing confidence in ourselves in order to gain confidence in God; submitting and surrendering to His supremacy, trusting Him enough to lift us up! When we see ourselves as nothing and God as everything, only then can God reveal, use and exalt us to more than we can be! PhotoGrid_1439883809381

Matthew 20:26-28 “…whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave— just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

Humility is the key to greatness! Before you ascend, you must descend! Blessings!
