It is interesting how the truth has been twisted. Its such a pity that no one has time for anybody, even themselves much less God’s business. We claim we are doing God’s business but apportion only little of our time to the things of the kingdom of God. What it means to do God’s business is to wholeheartedly devote our spirit, time, energy, resources etc to the things of God. Everyone is consumed with one thing or the other; what the family will eat, shelter, clothing, how to amass wealth and be known as the most affluent, power etc (I must emphasize here again that carnality is a great enemy to God).
All the above are things of the flesh and anyone who is spiritual will not have these as priorities.
The word of God says we should make God’s kingdom and his righteousness our priority and God will make us and our needs His priorities! this does not mean we should not work but our ATTITUDE towards them should be the difference.
Most of us believe in our jobs, business, certificates, spouses/ children etc. so we bang all our hopes on these things. We chase after them and strive to make it work because we believe that’s what we have got be successful but when it comes to the things of God, we are reluctant; attitude! the word of God admonishes that: Proverbs 14:12 “there is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death”
We are so busy that we forget to pray, we forget to fellowship with the brethren, we forget to read our bibles, share the good news etc; in all we do not live in obedience to God’s word because we are chasing after things which have been commanded to chase after us once we are in the kingdom and doing the kingdom work! Matthew 6:33 “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”
The truth is that everything we need is in God’s kingdom; He is our ultimate source, our sole provider, His name is Jehovah Jireh-our provider! What is it that we need and he cannot provide? He just demands that we stay within His courts and bingo! We will have all we ever needed; He knows what is good for us and He will provide them accordingly. What do you treasure most?; your business, money in your account, children, wife? If you treasure all these and forget the giver of life and prosperity, then you lost it!
Matt. 6:20-21 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. Trust in the LORD (treasure Him) and entrust your heart (your everything) to Him; He will keep you safe for As the Scriptures tell us, “Anyone who trusts in him will never be disgraced.” Romans 10:11
Today, i pray the LORD will steer us by His mercies to return to our first love; those little things we have neglected which matters the most to God! He needs your time and attention, He craves to hear your voice and wants to feel you close to Him always through your service to Him! Remember its a love affair! Blessings!
